What's communicative Language Teaching?
It is a method to the teaching of second languages that focue on both the means and the ultimate goal of learning a language.In my opinion, I think that listening and speaking activities are both play important roles in CLT. I planned a course "Learning English for Study Abroad" for my students few years ago. They learned the conversation in many diffrerenty situations. They learn how to speak in the post office, they learned how to open a bank account and how to asked the bank cleark about the interest, they learned how to negotioationed with the landlord...etc.
1994 study by Lai established that learner confidence and self esteem were primary factors that led to CLT success. As a language teacher, how could you build up your students' confident ?
Chia-Chen, your classroom ideas sound great. What were the results of your lessons? Did students practice in English, or in their L1?
